The FACULTY OF LIBRARY STUDIES AND CULTURAL HERITAGE (FLSCH) is a successor of the Faculty of Bibliology, Information Systems and Public Communications (FBISPC) at ULSIT.
The structure of the Faculty includes the following 3 departments: Library Sciences; Cultural and Historical Heritage and Tourism; Communication and Informing. Students are trained both full-time and part-time in 24 specialties:
8 Bachelor Programmes and 16 Master Programmes.
Approximately 86 lecturers work at the FLSCH: 23 professors, 26 associate professors, 18 senior assistant professors, 12 assistant professors and 7 guest tutors. They are responsible for and ensure a high quality level of training for more than 1,500 Bulgarian and foreign students in all specialties.

The FACULTY OF INFORMATION SCIENCES (FIN) is a relatively new unit. Established in 2010, it has acquired the necessary traditions in the sphere of the contemporary information technologies and communications from the background of FBISPC and has a well-built team of experienced academic professionals.
The structure of the faculty includes the following 3 departments: Information Systems and Technologies; National Security; Computer Sciences. The faculty provides both full time and part-time education in 18 specialties: 7 Bachelor Programmes and 11 Master Programmes
Approximately 58 lecturers work at the FIN: 19 professors, 14 associate professors, 11 senior assistant professors and 6 assistant professors and 8 guest tutors. They are responsible for and ensure a high quality level of education and training for more than 1,500 Bulgarian and foreign students in all specialties.
In both FLSCH and FIN, all necessary conditions have been provided for acquiring higher educational degree not only in one major specialty but in a second specialty, as well as for an ahead-of-term graduation.
The process of study and education at the Faculties is realized in compliance with the requirements of the Bulgarian Law on Higher Education, the Regulations for ULSIT’s Structure and Activity, decisions of the Rector’s Council, Rector’s orders and the elaborated system for assessment and quality support of education and of the academic staff.
The process of education is carried out and accompanied by training documentation for every specialty, comprising the qualification characteristics with respect to degrees, syllabus, curricula of the studied subjects, as well as yearly timetable of the training process.
Syllabi are synchronized with those of leading European Higher Education Institutions, European Qualification Framework, eCompetence Framework and are in conformity with the requirements of the Bulgarian Law on Higher Education and ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). The Academic community of FLSCH and FIN consists of lecturers, administrative staff and students. The lectures are taught by academicians, professors, associate professors and doctors. The majority of them are scholars of excellent reputation in Bulgaria, as well as abroad.
